Sustainable Transport/End of Year Celebration

Kerryn Gosbell will speak on Sustainable transport at 7 pm.

This is one Big Night! First, a rocket stove workshop with Radhika at 5, then a shared, garlicky, celebratory, meal together at 6, followed by our speaker on Sustainable Transport - Kerryn Gosbell - who has spent time in the Netherlands. Question time will lead into our a celebratory dessert/supper and a look back at what we've done this year.

– Lessons from The Netherlands

In May this year local mum & active transport advocate Kerryn Gosbell travelled with her family to participate in a cycle study tour of The Netherlands.

Together with 30 other Australians they cycled over 500kms around The Netherlands experiencing first hand the cycling culture & infrastructure.  Along the way they met transport planners, cycle advocates, local government staff and lots of everyday people.

Kerryn will outline what she learnt from the experience including how infrastructure, social norms, perceived safety and joy are all keys to better transport choices.  She will also discuss what Australia might learn from the Dutch in order to move toward a healthier and sustainable transport future.
