Great Links for Transition Towners

I thought I'd share a couple of my most favourite websites that I often turn to for information, inspiration or a wake up call. Also, if you have any great website links you'd like to tell us all about, then simply add them on in this 'discussion' by hitting Reply.

FUTURE SCENARIOS http://www.futurescenarios.org/ Created by David Holmgren, this excellent website is a MUST, in my opinion, for anyone part of a Transition Town, Permaculture group, or with interest in community, sustainability and the environment. In fact, I think everyone should read it! It is an ingenious and most thought-provoking article about Energy Descent and Future Scenarios.
CLUB ORLOV - http://cluborlov.blogspot.com/ Is the personal blog of Author Dmitry Orlov, who wrote the book "Reinventing Collapse, the Soviet experience and American prospects". I check his blog every day, as I appreciate his insights into the realities of the state of the world today and I love his dry humour!
LITTLE HOMESTEAD IN THE CITY - http://urbanhomestead.org/journal/ Blog of the Dervaes Family in Pasadena, California USA (made famous worldwide by the short film "HOMEGROWN"), these guys really know how to inspire! Always full of beautiful photos, loads of information on "how to...", and a positive outlook on things, this is another blog I check daily. Enjoy.

I will have a look at these links Radhika - thanks for the thought. I really like Rob Hopkins' blog at http://transitionculture.org/ and at the moment, there's a little clip about the next film they are making - In Transition 2.0 - appealing for donations - so if anyone out there feels moved to make this film possible - there's the opportunity.

This one is really practical - when you want to know which products are the most ethical, environmental etc and the handy little pocket guide is great. Also has amazing movie library! Here 'tis: http://www.ethical.org.au

Hmmm - I think I need some more FUN things to look at. Most of mine are VERY SERIOUS!

Here's another excellent website for all Transition Towners - Peak Moment TV. Each month the host, Janaia Donaldson, interviews an expert in the field of peak oil, climate change or sustainable practises. The interviews are interesting and often incredibly inspiring (the one about UN-Driving was just such a great, creative idea!!) and not only provides ideas for what TTM could do in the future, but also gives heart to those of us who feel outnumbered at times ;)
